Submitting Products to SkinSAFE

Status Definitions of Submissions

After you scan a product & submit it, your product will go through a review process by the SkinSAFE team.

As you submit products, you can follow the processing of the products through the status listed under "My Submissions".  

We'll do the legwork in looking up ingredients and assigning a category.  

Below are some of the other status reasons you may see for products you submit:

Active:

Your product has been reviewed and is live on our website. 

Filed as Incomplete:

We were unable to activate the product, usually because we cannot find sources of ingredients or the scanned image is too small or blurry to read. Also if the ingredient list is partially covered up or cut off. If you can’t read it, we can’t either! 

You will get a notification via email letting you know we were unable to activate your product. 

If it was due to the scanned image being unreadable, we will let you know how to resubmit images. 

Inactive: 

Your product has been deactivated (usually because of product duplication). 

Deleted: 

Usually an inappropriate product (e.g. medication, food product, paper product). 

We only review products that are meant to be applied to the skin. And paper products are only reviewed if they contain fragrances or gels. 

Ready for Review:

Hand-tight! We are waiting for someone from our team to review the final details. 

Physician Review 

There is a new ingredient waiting for review by our medical director.
